A well-trained dog leads to a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling relationship for everyone.
This is not just about basic commands; it’s about creating a strong foundation of mutual respect, trust, and understanding that enhances the lives of both humans and canines. Training your dog should always be focused on building confidence and a positive relationship with your furry companion.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
- Start early. Puppies are most receptive to training between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks. If your dog is older than 16 weeks, don’t worry, you can still achieve all of the goals you set with a little patience and practice.
- Be consistent. Dogs need to learn that the same commands always mean the same thing. Use the same commands and rewards every time.
- Be positive. Dogs respond best to positive reinforcement, such as praise and treats. Avoid using punishment, as this can lead to fear and aggression.
- Be patient. It takes time and patience to train a dogs. Don’t get discouraged if your pup doesn’t learn a new command overnight. Just keep practicing and be consistent.

Puppy Training
This course is ideal for puppies ages 8 to 16 weeks and will give them a strong relational and obedient foundation. A well-trained puppy is more likely to behave well at home and in public. This means fewer accidents, less barking and jumping, and better recall. Training also helps to build a strong bond between you and your puppy. As you work together to learn new commands, you will develop a mutual trust and respect.
1-on-1 Training
For dogs older than 4 months, we recommend a slightly different approach than for our puppies. These programs are uniquely designed for your dog and to help achieve whatever goal you have set for yourselves.
Clients that have done this training, frequently experience large turn arounds in areas such as pulling on lead, politely waiting to be greeted by visitors, and following commands. This is not a cookie cutter program – our goal is to always to help you reach yours!
Board & Train Options
Your dog lives with us (typically for 1 to 2 weeks)…and we train them!
The board and train packages that we have designed are great options for people that need to focus on more pressing matters, but also want to get their dog to be a well mannered and obedient member of the home. We offer both “ON LEASH” and “OFF LEASH” options to fit your needs and lifestyle.
Based on the amount of time and financial investment you’d like to make, we will suggest one of three programs: Jump Starting Fido, Optimizing Rover, or the Ultimate Dog.
